Ease Back-to-School Stress

Reading is one of the most important skills in a students' success.

Educational researchers have found that there is a strong correlation between reading and academic success. In other words, a student who is a good reader is more likely to do well in school and pass exams than a student who is a weak reader.

Educational researchers have also found a strong correlation between reading and vocabulary knowledge. In other words, students who have a large vocabulary are usually good readers.

So if you want your child to be successful at school encourage him or her to read.

Reading Log

All students have a Reading log which is placed in the school diary. Every day the Phonics teacher will listen to them read and sign in the diary.

The students must read this page again at home and a memeber of the family (adult) should listen to them read and then sign the Reading log daily.

All aspects of learning will improve if a child can read competentily.

Grade one daily reading  - Read along

Garde two daily reading  - Oxford reading 2

Grade 3 daily reading       - Oxford reading 3

Every child should read 10 minutes before going to bed.
